Jesus: the Real Messiah?

There is some debate over the Jesus. Christians beleive he was the Son of God, Jews beleive he was a prophet, some believe he was an angel and some think he was mad.
The Old Testament in the bible is filled with prophecies, and there are over 300 Messianic ones. If someone can fullfil all these prophecies then they would be the Messiah. The Jews took no notice of this because they hated him and wanted him dead. But if we were to take a look at that list, we would see that Jesus does indeed fullfil every single one of the Messianic prophecies noted in the Old Testament. For a book to be written some 2000 years before Jesus and have roughly 365 statements about him that come true is an acheivement. No other Holy book comes anywhere near and this is even more proof that the Bible is indeed true.

The observant of you will notice some of them haven't got a verse saying when they were fullfilled, that's becasue they haven't been fullfilled yet. But looking at the evidence, i reckon they will.

The Bible: A Science Textbook?

The bible isn't a science book, and neither does it claim to be. However it is scientifically accurate. I haven't been able to find any scientific evidence that contradicts the bible. Many of these facts were listed hundreds or thousands of years before being written down anywhere else.

• Paleontology (study of prehistoric life)

I have already discussed dinosaurs but there is roughly 1.5 chapters on dinosaurs in the bible. This is quite a lot as most people didn't even think dinosaurs were in the bible.

• Astronomy

The bible actually gives us a rough number of stars in the universe.

Genesis 22:17 Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

Jeremiah 33:22 “As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.”

So these two passages tell us that the stars in the universe are equal to the sands on the sea shore. Scientists have claimed that there are 100000000000000000000000000 (or 10 to the power of 25) sands on the sea shore. The number of stars that we have discovered so far is 1000000000000000000000000 (or 10 to the power of 23). Wouldn't be nice to discover that the more stars we find, the closer these numbers come to matching?

The bible also says that every star is unique. When looking at stars with our naked eye, we don't see any difference. And most stars still look the same through a telescope. However if we look at their light spectra's we can see that they are all different.

1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

It is hard to believe that people living in the 1st century AD had to ability to compare light spectra's.

The bible also shows us the suspension of Earth in space:

Job 26:7 He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing.

• Geology

The bible was the first book to say the Earth was round.

Isaiah 40:22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

The word for circle here is Chwung which also means "compass" or "spherical" The book of Isaiah was written 300 years before Aristotle actually published a book on the Earth being a Sphere.

The bible also comments on the Earth's crust.

Jeremiah 31:37 Thus says the LORD:“If heaven above can be measured, And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel. For all that they have done, says the LORD.”

Interesting enough, every human attempt to drill through the Earth's crust has failed.

• Meteorology

The bible describes the Atmosphere's circulation.

Ecclesiastes 1:6 The wind goes toward the south, And turns around to the north; The wind whirls about continually, And comes again on its circuit.

• Biology

Leviticus mentions the value of blood

Leviticus 17:11 ‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’

In 1616 William Harvey said that the circulation of blood is the key factor of life - something the bible said some 3000 years before.

It is a proved fact that our mental and spiritual health is strongly correlated to our physical health. King Solomon wrote about this in 950 BC

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

• Anthropology (study of cavemen)

Ever wondered when human beings lived in caves? After we were scattered at the tower of Babel, tribes competed for the best land, those unsuccesful were driven into the caves and they lived there.

Job 30:5,6 They were driven out from among men, They shouted at them as at a thief. They had to live in the clefts of the valleys, In caves of the earth and the rocks.

Note that these weren't actual cavemen, just ordinary humans who for some reason mentally and physically deterioated. (This concept is still in action today)

• Hydrology

Job 36:27-29 For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist, Which the clouds drop down. And pour abundantly on man. Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, The thunder from His canopy?

This verse has quite reamarkable scientific insight. It is explaining the cycle of rain. The rain rises as vapour and condenses, the drops the coalesce into drops large enough to "break" the clouds and fall onto the Earth.

The recirculation of water:

Ecclesiastes 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again.

The bible refers to the amount of water held in clouds:

Job 26:8 He binds up the water in His thick clouds, Yet the clouds are not broken under it.

• Nuclear Weaponary

This verse only suggests nuclear weaponary but its still something we can take into account.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

The purpose of this page is not to explain what a great science text the Bible is, but to show that it is consistent with scientific facts. Still, the Bible mentions some things that we can not explain. Yet, if God is really God, He should have the ability to do some things we can not explain.
In the last 100 years (and especially in the last ten) scientists discovered many proofs that confirm the Bible’s accuracy. Since these proofs support the accuracy of the text we can understand scientifically, it makes sense to trust the Bible’s text that we can not yet understand.

Also, the writers of the Bible were spiritually inspired by God to write what they did. There is no other way they could understand or even know about some of the facts I have listed. Christian faith isn't about proving God is real but in this context here, it is obvious that our God was telling them what to write. How could people write about how many stars there were? Or even know they were all different? So through this evidence we can clearly see that God IS real and there is no doubt about it.

I drew all my statements from biblical knowledge and various sources found on the internet. I hope this post will help those struggling to get to grips that God is real. I also hope that this will strengthen your faith even more.

Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs are fabled to have appeared on Earth 160 million years ago, they were supossed to be wiped out roughly 100 million years ago. This, however, is incorrect. Scientists have discovered Dinosaur Soft Tissue preserved in sedimentary rock. These scientists say that the Dinosaur Tissue can only be preserved for roughly 10000 years, if this is true, how could the Dinosaur's have lived millions of years ago?
These scientists have also come up with two other possibilities but the amount of scientific proof against them removes those ideas completely. The only option left then, is that Dinosaurs were still around thousands of years ago, fitting in with the Biblical Creation Theory. Let's have a look at the Creation theory.

Genesis 1: 1-22
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

So God created all animals on the fifth day. This includes Dinosaurs. Now some people beleive that the days mentionned in Genisis 1 were thousands of years apart. They argue that the Dinosaurs would of been extinct by the time God created humans on the sixth day. If Adam was created on the sixth day and Dinosaurs on the fifth and there wasn't and death before Adam, I cannot see any way in which the Dinosaurs could of been wiped out, no matter how long the days were.
If we did take into account that there was death before Adam, how would the Dinosaurs be wiped out? I'm not exactly sure if they could be hunted to extinction but it seems unlikely. And if you suggest that a meteor wiped them out then why wouldn't it kill other animals aswell? There just isn't anyway for them to be extinct before humans were around.
(Just to point out, in Genisis 1:5 God calls the light day and the darkness night, which means that each day is one rising and setting of the sun and one rising and setting of the moon. Which means the days were only 24 hours long.)
So dinosaurs co-existed human beings on earth. If that is so, why aren't they around today? Some people will say the flood. But they survived the flood. Noah was asked to take 2 of every kind of animal onto the boat. This means every single type of Dinosaur. When the flood ended all those dinosaurs came off the boat. (I'm also going to point out that these animals would of been babies so they could all fit on the boat)
Now, in the book of Job, (which came after the flood) there is a description of a dinosaur. There wasn't a word for dinosaur before 1864 but they used the word tanniyn which means: "dinosaur" or "large reptile" and also "monster." However the word Job uses is behemoth which is a word they used for a type of dinosaur.
These are the attributes the "behemoth" has according to Job 40: 15-24:

• It “eats grass like an ox.”
  
• It “moves his tail like a cedar.” (In Hebrew, this literally reads, “he lets hang his tail like a cedar.”)
  
• Its “bones are like beams of bronze,His ribs like bars of iron.”
  
• “He lies under the lotus trees,In a covert of reeds and marsh.”

Now using this information, biblical scholars and scientists have decided that the description mentionned here is in fact a "Brachiosaurus" The largest dinosaur recorded into history books.

However this isn't the only description the bible has, there is another whic is described in Job :41; Psalm 104: 25, 26 and Isaiah 27:1. This time a dinosaur called "Leviathan" is being described. These are its attributes:

• “No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up.”
  
• “Who can open the doors of his face, with his terrible teeth all around?”
  
• “His rows of scales are his pride, shut up tightly as with a seal; one is so near another that no air can come between them; they are joined one to another, they stick together and cannot be parted.”
  
• “His sneezings flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lights; sparks of fire shoot out. Smoke goes out of his nostrils, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes. His breath kindles coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.”
  
• “Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail; nor does spear, dart, or javelin. He regards iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee; slingstones become like stubble to him. Darts are regarded as straw; he laughs at the threat of javelins.”
  
• “On earth there is nothing like him, which is made without fear.”
  
• Leviathan “played” in the “great and wide sea” (a paraphrase of Psalm 104 verses 25 and 26—get the exact sense by reading them yourself).
  Leviathan is a “reptile [a] that is in the sea.” (Isaiah 27:1)

[a] Not that the word reptile here is the word tanniyn in hebrew.

Now this is a rather interesting description. Many of descriptions link to the sea. (I haven't listed them all) which suggests this is a sea creature. Many bibles will translate the word as a crocodile or an alligator. But crocodiles and alligators spend a lot of their time on land. Also the phrase which says "who can open the door to his face" implys that it may be a crocodile or an alligator, but which kind of crocodile or alligator spits fire?! Now you might be thinking what on earth I am going on about but there is an animal alive today which "spits" fire. The Bombardier Bettle. This bettle has a nozzle in its backside which acts a fTlamethrower, the "nozzle" can squirt out a jet of gases which ignite and burn potential enemies. (The gases are: hydroquinos, hydrogen peroxide and oxidative enzymes.) This is interesting because scientists have discovered dinosaur skulls with holes in which they couldn't possibly describe. Could these holes be little gas nozzles? I don't see why not. Which over creature can breathe out fire? Oh yes, a dragon. If you can remember the word used for "large reptile" and "monster" before the word dinosaur was invented was "tanniyn" which also meant Dragon. If there were other creatures which could breathe fire like the Leviathan then that would explain Dragon Myths. It will also explain what happened to dinosaurs. It seemed that they survived after Christ rose again and are appearing in Dragon Myths. All those stories about Dragon slaying? Could they be the answer to how the dinosaurs where finally wiped out? Another race hunted to extinction by human beings? Quite possibly. Some dinosaur skeletons have been found with holes in, could these holes represent bullet holes or arrow holes? However, I don't beleive an arrow could put a hole through a bone. Maybe peirce flesh and destroy organs but put holes in bones? Not likely. Some of the first guns where invented in the 13th century by the Chinese and Indian people. So does this mean dinosaurs could of survived this long? It could explain all of the Chinese dragons and great lizards. But when did the Dinosaurs eventually become extinct? No-one knows, they could be alive today. Hiding in forests in remote parts of the world, like Peru or Brazil, where hundreds of tribes have survived unnoticed. Or perhaps underwater there is a Leviathan hiding in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean? Or maybe they are extinct. The largest creatures to walk the earth were finally destroyed by the Human race.
